I don’t believe in prong collars personally, so what could I use to train my French Bulldog puppy to like going for walks? He’s 16 weeks old and very stubborn, to the point where he will not even move, he just stares at me and then lay down. 😅 Edit: Didn’t use any prong collars, I used a Harness (As it’s humane and more comfortable for dogs whilst walking) and he absolutely loves his walks now.
that’s animal abuse to use a prong collar on dogs, there are far more effective ways to train with love and guidance not torturing and abusing an animal. i’ve worked with all sorts of breeds both pure bred and mixed two of which are frenchies. you must be patient kind understanding but firm. no yelling cussing or aggression. the dog must associate you as a possessive interaction and someone they can rely on for their needs being met. never cause the dog any PAIN!! i use redirecting with praise sometimes treats, toys and such. that way the dog will want to do as it’s told, and what can be a negative association becomes a positive.
