The buddies’ breed is unknown.
Five golden retrievers puppies known as The Buddies—the offspring of Air Bud—had incredible adventures together.
Sniffer, the narrator, introduces the Air Buddies, RoseBud, Buddha, Budderball, MudBud, and B-Dawg and describes their personalities and sporting prowess. Later, Noah, Henry, and their parents depart to join Buddy and Molly at a basketball game. The puppies balk at being left alone and bored and attempt to grab their toys, but are stopped by Mrs. Dot Niggles, their babysitter, and forced to take baths. Mrs. Dot Niggles instructs them to take naps after that. B-Dawg orders that no one will tell him to take a nap and sends the puppies outside to keep an eye on the babysitter. As the nanny snoozes, the puppies play their favorite games with their toys and Mrs. Dot Niggles’ yarn as Buddha observes the nanny “finding her inner peace”. Budderball scales the counter after winning to take Mrs. Dot Niggles’ blueberry pie as his reward. Mrs. Niggles wakes up after tossing it to the ground, but she’s bound by her yarn. As soon as the puppies hear their parents entering the house, Mrs. Framm decides it’s time to find the Buddies new homes because of the mess that has become the household. Bartleby Livingston, the son of Mr. Dot Livingston, is the target of Selkirk Tander’s attempt to impress him by presenting him with a female tiger for his birthday. However, Bartleby wanted a toy animal. Because Buddy plays sports, he wants Air Bud. Mr. Livingston offers Selkirk $500,000 if he can capture Buddy. In order to capture Buddy, Selkirk then dispatches his nephew Grim and his assistant Denning. The family decides to call the new owners the following day after Noah and Henry at the school collect all of the students’ profile sheets and photos and look at the girls and boys who would make good owners. When Grim and Denning get to Buddy’s house, they are shocked to see Buddy and Molly there at the same time, leading them to believe that there are two Air Buds or that they are dating. The puppies decide to leave the following morning. After pursuing them, Grim and Denning catch Budderball by luring him with a doughnut. While searching for Budderball, the other Buddies are captured and used as bait to capture Buddy and Molly. Buddy successfully frees the Buddies, but Denning captures him in a net. Buddy is captured while Molly tries to rescue him. The Buddies enquire about Buddy and Molly’s whereabouts and ask Sniffer for assistance. Sniffer, who has lost his sense of smell, explains that Buddy and Molly were taken to a wine region but declines to assist because it would be dangerous. Selkirk in wine country is happy that Denning and Grim got both Buddy and Molly so he can have them breed puppies and sell them for money. Selkirk orders them to lock the dogs in the wine cellar and go and capture the puppies after Grim explains that Buddy and Molly had already given birth and Denning had let them escape. Selkirk also threatens to feed the puppies to the tiger if they fail to do so. In an attempt to apprehend the Buddies, Grim and Denning return to Buddy’s house. The Buddies have followed the scent of Grim and Denning to the outdoor theater where they are watching 101 Dalmatians. The Buddies arrive at the projection room and enter directly in front of the projector, catching Denning and Grim’s eyes with their shadows. The friends then go in search of a snack shop and order food. Inadvertently turning himself blind, Grim turns on the projector. When a female customer orders a box cup of popcorn, Budderball accidentally falls out of the box. Denning and Grim hear the woman’s scream and stumble on the wet floor as a result. The Buddies then encounter a motorbike gang. Still blind, Grim flips the motorcycles over, and Denning crashes into them as well. Furiously calling the Buddies and the man at the movie projection booth double-crossing bottle-suckers and other derogatory terms related to double-crossing, Denning slams into the motorcycles as well. The gang gets angry when Grim and Denning accidentally knock over the motorcycles, so they tie them up in front of the movie screen and start throwing soda, candy, and popcorn at them. As they pursue the Buddies to a farm, Grim and Denning finally catch up with them. When the Buddies encounter Billy the Goat and Belinda the Pig, they are able to flee from Grim and Denning with their assistance. Grim and Denning are lured into a stable by the Buddies, who then escape through a small gap while Billy locks them inside. The Buddies travel through the forest before meeting the Wolf, who directs them to wine country. Sniffer calls Noah and Henry and they set out to find the Buddies after being able to smell again thanks to a skunk’s spray. Molly and Buddy are able to get away and locate the Buddies. The Buddies are forced to assist after Budderball falls into a hole that Buddy and Molly dug. Sniffer takes Noah and Henry on a tour of the same farm that the Buddies took. When Noah and Henry discover Grim and Denning being held captive by Billy the goat, they are ecstatic and overcome with joy. Despite Grim and Denning’s protests, they immediately leave to report them and turn them in to the authorities. When Bartleby and his father arrived to collect the dogs, they instead discovered the Buddies. When Noah, Henry, Buddy, and Molly arrive to save the Buddies, Bartleby and his father have already placed them in a limousine. Budderball stumbles into one of the wine bottles and imbibes. Sniffer intercepts Budderball after Bartleby catches it. Barrels are thrown by Noah, Henry, and the dogs at Selkirk and Mr. Livingston, breaking the wine container. Upon the container’s opening, Selkirk and Mr. Livingston plunge inside. Sheriff Bob arrives to arrest Selkirk, Denning, and Grim after washing out of the container. Buddy and Molly are informed of the Buddies’ mistakes and told they are prepared for their new owners. Because he requires a friend, Budderball chooses to remain with Bartleby.
The puppy tale of Buddy and Molly is followed in the movie as it takes place in Washington. They choose to play hide-and-seek when Budderball discovers an ice cream truck after bidding their owners farewell one morning. In an effort to assist, RoseBud sees him and follows him. B-Dawg and MudBud wind up in the truck that is shipping to outside the town of Ferntiuktuk, Alaska, and Buddha discovers them both there, which causes chaos. Shasta, a young husky owned by 11-year-old Adam Bilson, who is determined to win the Alaskan sled dog race, meets the puppies when they travel to Alaska. Having a bad temperament and being a very mean, irritable, and cantankerous man, Jean George III would gladly rob rival competitors of their victories and might even harm them if they attempted to reclaim them. The puppies vote to support Shasta’s aspirations, who is grateful for their assistance. Shasta, sadly, has no parents, which puts the puppies in a difficult situation because no one can teach them how to become snow dogs and the neighborhood’s older puppies sneer at the idea of them learning how. Fortunately, they locate Talon, his father’s teacher, in the mountains. Talon is initially hesitant, but Shasta is able to convince him by saying that “It’s not the size of the dog that counts but the heart of the team” that the uncanny puppies should be his new proteges. When Shasta introduces Adam to his new sleigh team, he is overjoyed at the prospect of seeing his dreams come true, and the team engages in strenuous training routines frequently with comic effect. With the help of his team of obedient puppies, Adam starts construction on a new sleigh. Talon proudly observes the team’s accomplishments as it appears that they are working together as a team and that their efforts are paying off. However, the more senior huskies in the town are unimpressed and start plotting their destruction. To demoralize the Buddies, they confess to them that Shasta’s parents perished when the ice supporting them broke. When they return to Washington, Buddy and Molly discover Budderball’s toy football on the ice cream truck’s back and decide to travel the same route as the puppies did to Alaska. One night, Talon summons the puppies to the mountain lake to see the Northern Lights before leaving, telling Shasta that he has all the knowledge required to succeed as the great leader his father was. The puppies join Adam in the race the next morning. The sheriff warns the puppies that the race is dangerous before they set out on their journey. As Bernie, a rescue dog, alerts Buddy and Molly to their participation in the race, the two immediately set out to find the puppies in Alaska. Additionally, Mr. Bilson starts looking for Adam. Without much difficulty, the team is able to reach the halfway checkpoint. When the sheriff finally checks his email, he learns that the puppies in his community are actually the Washington puppies that have gone missing. Mr. Dot Bilson is snowed in, and Adam’s main rival and the owner of the rival snow dogs starts to cheat by sabotaging the rival sleds, making the snowstorm more and more hazardous. Adam and the group find shelter in an Inuit’s igloo until the storm passes. Adam suffers damage as they square off against Jean George III. Adam then makes a full recovery. The ice beneath Jean George’s dogs breaks, putting them in danger. Shasta worries that his parents will die, but he keeps going and abandons them while Adam and the puppies launch a rescue effort. Jean George continues the race without showing gratitude and abandons the dogs after the puppies rescue them from the chilly water. Budderball finds Jean George’s actions to betrayal and finds it hard to believe that Jean George would leave them. He is branded as a loud, filthy freak by Budderball in a furious tone. Rosebud insists that she and her brothers must remain betrayer-free and that her team must keep running the race. Budderball confidently highlights their strength, while Buddha confidently highlights their speed and stamina. The dogs of Jean George realize they owe Shasta and the puppies everything instead of their owner, and as a result, they slow down, causing Jean George to lose the race. As a result of Adam’s victory, the puppies are reunited with their parents. When Jean George calls to his dogs, they respond by pursuing him all over the Arctic. All seven puppies take the plane back to their residence. Once they arrive, they live happily ever after.
